How to use EndNote basic
EndNote basic is a Thomson Reuters bibliographic tool that can be used over the internet.
(It is not the online version of EndNote.)
It was added in December, 2006 as a free service accompanying the University of Tokyo's
contract with Web of Science.
The program can be used free of charge by students or staff,
as long as they are affiliated with the University of Tokyo.
(This does not include students who have already graduated or completed
their studies. We encourage students to save their research data

EndNote basic can be used in these ways
EndNote basic can be put to use in research, education, or work in a number ways.
Its main uses are detailed below.
1) Creating your own document database on the internet
Data can be saved easily from databases such as the Web of Science Core Collection.
You can input necessary data from various document databases into EndNote basic,
saving and editing your own document list.
Since the data is stored on the internet, you can log in and access it
from any location.
Up 10,000 data subjects can be stored.
2) Automatically creating a bibliography
Data stored to EndNote basic can be searched and accessed while writing an article,
and used to automatically create lists of the documents referenced
in quotations and bibliographies.
3) Sharing document folders
Document lists created through EndNote basic can be made available on the internet
to classes, seminars, research groups, or other specified members.
Sharing is available only to registered users who are affiliated with a university
subscribing to Web of Science.
User registration is required
When using EndNote basic for the first time, it is necessary to access Web of Science
from an on-campus computer station, and use the registration screen.
It is not necessary for those who are already registered users of Web of Science (or
to register again.
(How to register as a user)
1. Access http://www.webofknowledge.com/ from an on-campus computer station.
2. Click on "Sign In" on the top page.
3. Click on "Register".
4. Fill in the required fields and click the "Submit Registration" button.
How to access EndNote basic
After performing registration, access is possible from on or off-campus.
On or Off-campus access:
1. Access http://www.myendnoteweb.com/
2. Enter your registered E-mail Address and Password, then click the "Log In" button.
